Resolution No. 2011-13 - Passed by Consensus

Consumption of Energy Drinks

Whereas;  The popular energy drinks have unknown and long term health effects on a young human body;

Whereas;  Throughout North America there has now been over 7000 reports of youth health being 
		compromised by the consumption of energy drinks;

Whereas;  Health Canada has not properly regulated the consumption of these energy drinks in Canada.


Therefore Be It Resolved;	

THAT the Vuntut Gwitchin First Nation Government include programing that educates our citizens about 
the unknown health implications of consuming energy drinks by our youth, especially while participating 
in physical activities;

FURTHER THAT all Vuntut Gwitchin First Nation sponsored events for youth include the prohibition of the 
consumption of energy drinks by our youth 18 years and under;

FURTHER THAT the Vuntut Gwitchin First Nation Government communicate to the Northern Store that 
energy drinks not be sold in their store.
